Über UBS Europe SE
UBS Europe SE is a subsidiary of UBS Group and serves as the group’s primary banking hub within the European Union, incorporated as a Societas Europaea and headquartered in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The bank provides wealth management, investment banking and capital markets services, lending solutions, custody and brokerage, and other asset servicing to private, corporate and institutional clients, operating through branches in multiple EU member states under passporting frameworks. It is authorized as a credit institution in Germany and is supervised under the European Central Bank’s Single Supervisory Mechanism with BaFin as the national competent authority; host regulators oversee its local branches. Client money and securities are handled under German and EU rules on safeguarding; securities are held in segregated accounts under German law and are not covered by deposit insurance. Deposits with UBS Europe SE are protected by the German statutory scheme (Entschädigungseinrichtung deutscher Banken) up to €100,000 per depositor; additional voluntary deposit protection may apply via the Association of German Banks’ scheme, subject to membership status and evolving coverage limits. Since the UK’s exit from the EU, parts of UBS’s European investment banking activities have been migrated to UBS Europe SE to maintain access to EU markets under MiFID II and CRR/CRD passports. The entity is subject to EU capital, liquidity and resolution requirements, including Pillar 3 disclosures and MREL, with resolution planning led by the Single Resolution Board. UBS Europe SE focuses on wealth and institutional services rather than mass‑market retail banking; product availability, terms and fees vary by country and client segment. Following UBS’s acquisition of Credit Suisse, selected European activities of the former Credit Suisse entities have been integrated or are in the process of being integrated into UBS’s EU platform, which may affect booking locations and legal counterparties over time.
