PANCRETA BANK S.A. is a Greek credit institution headquartered in Heraklion, Crete, operating nationwide with a branch and ATM network concentrated on the island and present in major urban centers. The bank emerged from the demutualization and conversion of the former Pancretan Cooperative Bank into a société anonyme, and provides standard retail and business banking services, including current and savings accounts, term deposits, debit and credit cards, domestic and SEPA payments, e-banking and mobile banking, consumer and mortgage loans, SME and corporate lending, trade finance, and basic treasury products. It is licensed and supervised by the Bank of Greece and, as a less significant institution under the EU Single Supervisory Mechanism, is subject to European banking regulations and reporting standards. Deposits are covered by the Hellenic Deposit and Investment Guarantee Fund (TEKE) up to €100,000 per depositor per bank, in line with EU rules; eligible investment services fall under the investor compensation framework. In recent years the bank has focused on balance-sheet strengthening through capital increases and actions to reduce legacy non-performing exposures, while monitoring opportunities for scale through sector consolidation, any transaction remaining contingent on shareholder decisions and regulatory approvals. Operationally, it follows PSD2 requirements, including strong customer authentication for digital channels, and operates within the Greek payments infrastructure for clearing and settlement.
