Über Československá obchodná banka, a.s.
Československá obchodná banka, a.s. (ČSOB) is a universal bank in Slovakia, part of KBC Group, operating under a license from the National Bank of Slovakia and participating in the Slovak Deposit Protection Fund, which protects eligible deposits up to EUR 100,000 per depositor as defined by law. The bank serves retail, SME, and corporate clients, offering current accounts with package pricing and conditional fee waivers, SEPA payment services in euro, domestic and cross-border transfers, debit and credit cards, overdrafts, consumer loans, mortgages, and standard savings products such as savings accounts and term deposits. Within the broader ČSOB/KBC group in Slovakia, customers have access to investment funds through ČSOB Asset Management, insurance via ČSOB Poisťovňa, building savings through ČSOB Stavebná sporiteľňa, and leasing via ČSOB Leasing. Accounts are available in euro and selected foreign currencies; international payments and card transactions involve exchange rates and conversion margins set in the published price list, and non-SEPA or urgent transfers typically carry additional charges. Digital channels include internet banking (Moja ČSOB) and a mobile application supporting payments, card controls, and authentication; the bank provides PSD2 APIs for licensed third parties and applies strong customer authentication and 3D Secure for online transactions. ČSOB operates a nationwide branch and ATM network, with cash deposit functionality at selected ATMs, and supplies merchant acquiring, POS terminals, and e-commerce payment gateways, alongside cash management, trade finance, and financing solutions for businesses. Standard identification, AML/CFT, and creditworthiness checks apply; fees, interest rates, eligibility criteria, and collateral requirements are governed by official terms and are subject to change, with the current price list and contractual documentation as the decisive sources. International transfers use SK-format IBANs and the SWIFT/BIC CEKOSKBX. Following the acquisition and integration of OTP Banka Slovensko, the client base and distribution network were consolidated under the ČSOB brand, with legacy products maintained or migrated according to contractual provisions.
