Über BANK POLSKIEJ SPÓŁDZIELCZOŚCI S.A.

Bank Polskiej Spółdzielczości S.A. (BPS) is a Warsaw‑based joint‑stock bank that functions as the associating institution for a nationwide network of cooperative banks while also serving its own retail, SME, agribusiness, and public sector clients. The bank provides central liquidity, settlement, product, and risk‑management platforms to affiliated cooperative banks and participates in core domestic and international payment systems (including Elixir/Express Elixir, SEPA, SWIFT), with support for common card schemes and widely used mobile payments in Poland. Its product set covers current and savings accounts, term deposits, debit and credit cards, consumer and mortgage lending, working‑capital and investment loans, guarantees, trade finance, and cash management; insurance intermediation and merchant acquiring are available through the group or partners. Distribution combines BPS’s own branches in larger cities with remote channels (internet and mobile banking), while the affiliated cooperative banks provide broad physical coverage in smaller towns and rural areas. The shareholder base consists primarily of cooperative banks and cooperative institutions; the bank operates a two‑tier governance structure (management board and supervisory board) and is not publicly listed. BPS is supervised by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF); deposits are protected by the Bankowy Fundusz Gwarancyjny up to the equivalent of EUR 100,000 per depositor, and the institution is subject to resolution planning and MREL requirements. Funding is mainly deposit‑based, with liquidity buffers typically held in central bank instruments and Polish government securities; lending is oriented to households, SMEs, agriculture, and local governments. Capital and risk measurement follow CRR/CRD rules using standard approaches common in the cooperative sector, and asset quality is reported under EBA definitions. Earnings are driven by net interest income and fees from payments and settlement services and can be sensitive to National Bank of Poland rate moves, sector levies, and regulatory contributions. Fees, interest rates, and product terms are published in the bank’s tariffs and may differ from those offered by individual affiliated cooperative banks.
