Mediobanca, Sucursal en España is the Spanish branch of Mediobanca S.p.A., an Italian banking group listed on Borsa Italiana, focused locally on corporate and investment banking for large companies, financial sponsors and institutional clients. The branch’s activities typically cover M&A and strategic advisory, equity and debt capital markets origination and placement, acquisition and leveraged finance, structured finance and debt advisory, and risk management solutions related to interest rates and foreign exchange; it does not operate as a retail bank in Spain and does not market current accounts or consumer lending to the general public. Operating under the EU passport regime as a branch of an Italian credit institution, it is subject to prudential supervision by the European Central Bank in cooperation with Banca d’Italia, with conduct oversight in Spain by Banco de España for banking services and by the CNMV for investment services carried out in Spanish markets.
