About Revolut Bank UAB Zweigniederlassung Deutschland

Revolut Bank UAB Zweigniederlassung Deutschland is the German branch of Revolut Bank UAB, a Lithuanian credit institution authorized by the Bank of Lithuania and operating in Germany via EU passporting. It provides app-based current accounts with SEPA transfers and SEPA direct debits and issues Visa or Mastercard debit cards; Apple Pay and Google Pay are supported. The service is structured in a free tier and several paid plans that differ by allowances and features. Customers can hold and exchange multiple currencies in the app and send international transfers via SEPA and, for some currencies, SWIFT; foreign exchange is subject to monthly fee-free allowances and markups beyond those allowances and on weekends, which vary by plan. ATM withdrawals are free up to a monthly allowance, after which percentage fees apply; some ATM operators may add their own surcharges; cash deposits and cheques are not supported. The app includes budgeting and analytics, virtual and disposable virtual cards, sub-accounts for saving, payment requests and links, and accounts for minors; savings options with variable interest may be available in the app, with rates subject to change and differences by plan. Eligible deposits with Revolut Bank UAB are protected by Lithuania’s statutory deposit guarantee scheme up to €100,000 per depositor; the German deposit guarantee does not apply. Accounts in Germany have historically used Lithuanian IBANs; Revolut has been rolling out local German IBANs to some customers. Both LT and DE IBANs are SEPA-compliant and merchants in the EU are not permitted to discriminate based on the country code of an IBAN, though acceptance issues can still occur in practice. Investment and cryptoasset features accessible in the app are provided by separate Revolut group entities under different licenses, are not covered by deposit insurance, and access depends on residency and regulation. Onboarding requires identity verification and a compatible smartphone; support is provided digitally and there are no physical branches. As a branch, the entity is registered in Germany, with prudential supervision by the Bank of Lithuania and certain conduct oversight in Germany by BaFin. Fees, limits, interest rates, availability of features (including lending), IBAN issuance, and partner services are subject to change and differ by plan; customers should review the latest terms, price lists, and regulatory disclosures in the app and on Revolut’s website before opening or using an account.
