About Health Services Staffs Credit Union Limited

Health Services Staffs Credit Union Limited is a member-owned financial cooperative in Ireland serving people within a defined common bond linked to the health services sector. It provides core credit union services, including savings accounts (member “shares”) and a range of personal lending such as car, education, and home improvement loans, with interest calculated on the reducing balance and no penalties for early repayment; rates, loan amounts, and eligibility criteria are set by the credit union and published in its tariff and lending policies. Many members use payroll deduction where available to build savings and repay loans. The credit union also offers digital banking, electronic transfers, and a mobile app; a current account with a debit card is available through the credit union sector’s shared payments platform, with maintenance and transaction fees set out in a schedule of charges. Member savings eligible under the Irish Deposit Guarantee Scheme are protected up to €100,000 per person per institution, and the credit union is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland; complaints that are not resolved internally can be escalated to the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman. Any annual dividend on savings or loan interest rebate depends on surplus and is not guaranteed. Standard identification, address, PPSN, and evidence of eligibility for the common bond are required for membership. Product availability, limits, and fees can change, and borrowers are assessed for affordability and creditworthiness. Annual reports and regulatory disclosures are published in line with Irish credit union requirements.
