About Barclays Bank Ireland Plc, Netherlands branch
Barclays Bank Ireland Plc, Netherlands branch is the Dutch branch of Barclays Bank Ireland Plc, the EU-incorporated banking entity of the Barclays group used to serve EEA clients following the UKβs withdrawal from the EU. The branch focuses on corporate and institutional customers, providing corporate and investment banking services including bilateral and syndicated lending, capital markets origination and distribution, foreign exchange and interest rate risk management, cash management, trade and working capital solutions, and related transaction services. It does not operate a retail network in the Netherlands and consumer banking availability is limited. As a branch, client relationships are booked to Barclays Bank Ireland Plc; the bank is authorized and supervised as a credit institution by the European Central Bank and the Central Bank of Ireland, with host supervision in the Netherlands by De Nederlandsche Bank and conduct oversight by the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets. Eligible deposits taken through the branch are protected by the Irish Deposit Guarantee Scheme (generally up to β¬100,000 per depositor; terms and exclusions apply), and any investor compensation arrangements are governed by the Irish scheme; the Dutch DGS and UK FSCS do not apply to this entity. Services are provided under EU and Dutch frameworks including CRR/CRD, MiFID II, EMIR, PSD2, and GDPR. Onboarding is subject to KYC/AML, sanctions, and beneficial ownership checks, and pricing for lending, cash management, and payments is agreed on a commercial basis. Payment capabilities include SEPA and cross-border transfers via international networks. Complaints are handled under the bankβs procedures and may be escalated to the appropriate Irish or Dutch authorities depending on the service and client category.
