BNF Bank plc

BNF Bank plc is a Malta-licensed credit institution offering retail and business banking services, including current and savings accounts, term deposits, payment services, cards, personal and home loans, SME and corporate lending, and trade-related services, supported by internet and mobile banking channels and a branch network in Malta and Gozo. The bank began operating in 2007 as Banif Bank (Malta) plc and rebranded to BNF Bank in 2017 following a change in control; its majority shareholder is Al Faisal International for Investment LLC. It is authorised and supervised by the Malta Financial Services Authority within the EU’s Single Supervisory Mechanism framework and participates in Malta’s Depositor Compensation Scheme, which protects eligible deposits up to €100,000 per depositor, per bank, in line with EU rules. BNF’s funding model is largely based on customer deposits, with lending focused on households and businesses in the domestic market. Fees, rates, and product eligibility are set out in the bank’s published tariff and terms, and account opening is subject to standard due-diligence and documentation requirements. The bank publishes audited financial statements and regulatory disclosures (including Pillar 3) to meet EU prudential and transparency obligations.
