O Banque Cantonale Vaudoise
Banque Cantonale Vaudoise (BCV) is a Swiss cantonal bank headquartered in Lausanne, operating primarily in the canton of Vaud. Founded in 1845, it is majority-owned by the Canton of Vaud and its shares trade on SIX Swiss Exchange under the ticker BCVN. The bank offers retail and corporate banking, mortgages, payments, savings and investment products, and wealth management and trading services for individuals, small and mid-sized enterprises, and institutional clients. It maintains a regional branch and ATM network across Vaud and provides e-banking and mobile applications (including BCV Mobile and BCV TWINT) with two-factor authentication. Accounts are available in CHF and selected foreign currencies; pricing, features, and eligibility depend on the chosen package and client status. BCV is supervised by FINMA and participates in the Swiss deposit insurance scheme (esisuisse), which currently covers eligible deposits up to CHF 100,000 per client per bank. As a listed company, it publishes statutory financial statements and disclosures, including capital and risk metrics in line with Swiss requirements. The bank underwent restructuring in the early 2000s following significant credit losses and today concentrates on core regional banking and related asset management activities. Service availability for non-resident or cross-border clients depends on legal constraints and internal policies, and onboarding follows Swiss anti-money-laundering and know-your-customer regulations.
