Securities and investment services include custody accounts and trading plus products from the cooperative network, typically via Union Investment; insurance is available through R+V Versicherung, and building society contracts via Bausparkasse Schwäbisch Hall. Business clients can use merchant acquiring and e-commerce payment solutions through VR Payment, including POS hardware and settlement services. Deposits are protected by the officially recognized BVR Institutssicherung (statutory coverage up to 100,000 EUR per depositor) and additionally by the cooperative institutional protection scheme; supervision lies with BaFin and the Deutsche Bundesbank. Cooperative membership is available; members subscribe shares, have one vote in the general assembly, and may receive a dividend depending on results and bylaws. Pricing is set out in the Preis- und Leistungsverzeichnis and Preisaushang; account packages generally carry monthly fees that vary by included services, with charges for certain transactions, cards, and out-of-network withdrawals. Account opening follows German identification and anti-money-laundering requirements and may be limited to customers from the service area; day-to-day service is primarily in German. The offering is oriented to regional households and SMEs; nationwide or international features are present but limited compared with direct banks and global banks, and availability and conditions depend on the bank’s current schedule of services.
