Monaghan Credit Union Limited

Monaghan Credit Union Limited is a member-owned financial co‑operative based in County Monaghan that serves individuals and groups within a defined common bond in and around Monaghan town. It provides core credit union services to members, including share (savings) accounts and unsecured personal lending for purposes such as car purchase, home improvement, and education, with interest charged on a reducing balance and quoted as APR. Membership requires proof of identity and address and is limited to those who live, work, or study in the common bond; applications are subject to standard anti‑money laundering and credit assessments. The credit union is authorised and regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland under the Credit Union Act 1997 (as amended). Eligible member deposits are protected by the Irish Deposit Guarantee Scheme up to €100,000 per person per institution. Account access is available through branch services and online channels for routine transactions and loan applications, along with SEPA electronic payments, standing orders, and direct debits.
