The bank operates mainly as an internal service provider rather than a consumer-facing retail brand; end customers interact with their local POP Bank while Bonum handles centralized functions including SEPA and card scheme connectivity and other back-office infrastructure. It is authorized and supervised by the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority and operates under EU prudential rules on capital, liquidity, governance, and resolution; in Finland, eligible deposits are covered by the statutory deposit guarantee up to €100,000 per depositor per bank. Bonum Bank’s balance sheet and risk profile are closely linked to the POP Banks it supports, and the operating model concentrates operational and compliance responsibilities for payments, cards, and market operations at the group level. Funding is aligned with its treasury role and relies primarily on interbank and capital markets instruments, and the bank publishes audited financial statements and Pillar 3 disclosures in accordance with IFRS and regulatory requirements. For the public, account opening, lending, and day-to-day banking are handled by the individual POP Banks, with customer service routed through those local institutions, while Bonum’s services are chiefly indirect and institutional within the group.
