Sobre Banco de Crédito Social Cooperativo
Banco de Crédito Social Cooperativo, S.A. (BCC) is a Spanish credit institution that acts as the central entity of Grupo Cooperativo Cajamar, coordinating treasury, liquidity, capital markets funding, risk management, compliance, and shared services for the group’s cooperative banks. Its activity is primarily wholesale and intragroup; retail banking products such as current accounts, consumer finance, mortgages, cards, and day-to-day payments are delivered by the member cooperatives, mainly under the Cajamar brand, through their branch and digital channels. BCC consolidates the group’s financial reporting, manages access to payment systems, and is typically the issuer for the group’s wholesale funding instruments, including senior debt and securitisations, for institutional investors. The group operates under an institutional protection scheme (IPS) recognized under EU and Spanish banking law, which provides mutual support mechanisms among member entities, and is subject to prudential supervision within the EU’s Single Supervisory Mechanism, with the European Central Bank and Banco de España as competent authorities. Eligible deposits at the group’s retail banking entities are covered by Spain’s deposit guarantee framework up to the statutory limit per depositor and per institution; coverage applies at the legal-entity level rather than across the entire group. Fees, interest rates, and product terms are set by each member bank and vary by region and customer segment. Prospective retail customers interact with the group’s cooperative banks, while institutional investors and counterparties primarily engage with BCC for wholesale transactions and disclosures.
