RBC Investor Services Bank S.A. was a Luxembourg-incorporated credit institution that provided institutional asset servicing across Europe under Royal Bank of Canada’s Investor & Treasury Services division, covering global custody, depositary and trustee functions for UCITS and AIFs, fund accounting and administration, transfer agency, middle-office outsourcing, corporate actions and proxy voting, securities lending, foreign exchange, cash and liquidity, and collateral services. The bank operated from Luxembourg with a presence in major European fund domiciles and serviced asset managers, asset owners, pension funds, insurers, and other financial institutions on a contractual, volume-based pricing model rather than retail banking terms. It was authorized and supervised by the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier and, as a euro area credit institution, subject to prudential oversight within the Single Supervisory Mechanism, capital and liquidity rules under CRR/CRD, and associated disclosure obligations, including audited annual financial statements and Pillar 3 reports. Eligible client assets were held in line with regulatory segregation requirements, and, as applicable to Luxembourg credit institutions, deposits and investor claims fall within the scope of national protection schemes up to statutory limits. On 3 July 2023, CACEIS, the asset servicing group of Crédit Agricole S.A. (with Banco Santander as a significant shareholder), completed the acquisition of RBC’s European asset servicing business, including RBC Investor Services Bank S.A.; the entity has since been rebranded CACEIS Investor Services Bank S.A., and products, contracts, and client servicing are now delivered under the CACEIS operating model.
