À propos de Ibercaja Banco, S.A.
Ibercaja Banco, S.A. is a Spanish retail and commercial bank headquartered in Zaragoza, operating mainly in Aragon, La Rioja and adjacent regions, with additional presence in Madrid and other urban areas. It was created in 2011 as the banking vehicle of the former savings bank Ibercaja and later integrated Caja3 in 2013 during Spain’s sector restructuring. The bank remains privately held, with a majority stake controlled by Fundación Ibercaja and minority holdings linked to the legacy savings bank foundations of CAI, Círculo and Badajoz; it has considered an IPO at various points but has not executed one. Its focus is on households, the self‑employed and SMEs, offering current and savings accounts, cards and payments, mortgages and consumer loans, SME and agribusiness financing, and investment and pension products distributed through group entities such as Ibercaja Gestión and Ibercaja Pensión, along with bancassurance provided via subsidiaries. Distribution combines a rationalized branch network with online and mobile channels. Funding is primarily customer deposits supplemented by wholesale issuances, while risk and capital are reported under EU rules, with non‑performing assets reduced in recent years and solvency and liquidity maintained in line with regulatory requirements. The bank participates in Spain’s deposit guarantee framework and operates under Bank of Spain and European supervisory standards, including PSD2 open banking. Strategic priorities have included branch optimization, digitalization and growth in fee‑based businesses, with a business profile centered on regional retail and SME banking and exposure to economic conditions in its core markets and competition from larger national groups and digital providers.
