FlowBank SA

FlowBank SA is a Swiss online bank and broker founded in 2020 and headquartered in Geneva; it operated under FINMA supervision until June 2024, when FINMA withdrew the bank’s license and opened bankruptcy proceedings, halting normal operations and placing the wind-down under a court-appointed liquidator. Before the withdrawal, FlowBank offered multi-asset trading across cash equities, ETFs, bonds, options, futures, forex, CFDs, and selected crypto-linked instruments, delivered via proprietary web/desktop and mobile platforms with additional connectivity to MetaTrader 4/5. Accounts were available to individuals and corporates in multiple currencies, with funding primarily by bank transfer; pricing combined commissions for cash products with spreads and overnight financing on leveraged instruments, alongside standard custody and account charges. The service included market data subscriptions, basic research and education content, and customer support by phone, email, and chat. As a Swiss bank, FlowBank was subject to prudential and conduct rules and participated in the Swiss deposit insurance scheme (esisuisse); in bankruptcy, deposits up to CHF 100,000 per client are privileged under Swiss law, and custody assets held in clients’ names are segregated from the bankruptcy estate, though market and counterparty risks still apply. Following the license withdrawal, new account openings are not available; existing clients and other creditors must refer to FINMA and the liquidator’s official communications for claim submission, payout timelines, and the transfer or return of custody assets.
