European Merchant Bank (UAB European Merchant Bank, EMBank) is a Lithuania-based specialised bank launched in 2019, authorised within the European Union and supervised by the Bank of Lithuania under the Single Supervisory Mechanism. It focuses on corporate banking for SMEs and larger companies, offering business current accounts with Lithuanian IBANs, SEPA credit transfers, and cross-border payments via SWIFT, alongside lending and trade finance products such as working capital facilities, term loans, guarantees, and letters of credit. Onboarding is conducted remotely or at its Vilnius office subject to KYC/AML checks; acceptance depends on ownership structure, jurisdiction, and business activity, and higher-risk sectors may not be eligible. As an EU bank it is subject to PSD2 requirements, including strong customer authentication and access for licensed third-party providers. Eligible deposits are protected by Lithuania’s deposit guarantee scheme up to €100,000 per depositor per bank.
